-
Dip powder is a system of powder and glazes that are used for a nail enhancement. It can be used on a natural nail or an artificial tip. Dip powder is a finely milled powder which is perfect for achieving a smooth even application.
-
Gel nails are brushed on like a polish, while dip powders are applied by dipping your nail into a powder and sealing with an activator. Both manicures create stunning, strong, and long-lasting nails.
-
Yes you can - however, we have seen that gel nail art painted on-top on a dipping powder base doesn't last long. It tends to chip very easily after a few days.
If you're looking to get a full set of nails done with nail art on it we recommend getting Apres Gel extensions if you’re looking for long nails and you don’t have natural long nails or we recommend BIAB on natural nails and gel polish. Gel polish on top of dipping powder is common but, if you're looking for longer lasting nails/nail art that won’t chip easily - we'd always recommend BIAB or Apres Extension with Gel polish and gel nail art.
-
Between 14-21 days. You cannot bite or pick off dipping powder. It's just that durable. It's also recommended to apply dipping powder on your natural nails if you're looking to grow them out and build strength.
-
BIAB stands for ‘builder in a bottle', and is also referred to as ‘builder gels'. BIAB can be used to enhance the natural nails ability to grow and increase strength. It's perfect for if you want to grow out your own nails.
-
BIAB hardens and strengthens the natural nail, whilst creating the same perfect glossy look you'd expect from other treatments, such as gel or dip powder nails -all without adding too much bulk or thickness. BIAB can only be used on natural nails with no extensions. Extensions can be added for customers who prefer longer nails with Dipping powder or Apres Gel Extensions. (BIAB lengthening service coming soon to Naillington)
-
Builder in a bottle aka BIAB is a thicker gel overlay that is ideal for creating strong overlays and as a strengthening barrier to natural nails. Gel Polish gives natural nails added protection. BIAB is an infill product and gel polish is often used for nail art on top of BIAB.
-
We've found manicures using BIAB as the base tend to last about a week longer than manicures using our normal gel base coat. We don't offer hard gel or acrylic at Naillington, and we don't need to when our clients use BIAB to grow their nails more naturally.
-
No, we don’t have acrylic services available at Naillington. This is due to the toxic chemicals and smell used within this service. Acrylics are ultimately not healthy for your nails. This however doesn’t mean that we don’t do extensions. We currently have two extension services available: Apres gel extensions and Tip extensions with dipping powder available.
-
Between 14-21 days. Builder in a Bottle is a soft gel and is made to act as a super strong base for nails. The purpose of Builder in a Bottle is to stay on the nails pretty much until it's ready for a backfill appointment, making the natural nails super strong and keeping them healthy! All our builder gels are vegan and chemical free!
-
Apres gel extensions is a clear full nail extension that is directly applied with glue on the whole nail bed and cured under a UV light for extra strength and durability.
-
It is an extension of just the tip of the nail. Dipping powder is used as a base on top of the tip extension to act as a strong foundation.
-
It varies depending on what nail art technique is required to get the desired nail art design for you. On our booking services we have a tab that is dedicated to Nail Art add-ons and it ranges from $5-$65.
-
If you are unsure how long a certain design will take - feel free to reach out to us on Instagram with your inspo and we can help with what add on you need to book. We also have a few direct clicks on our site that already prefills the nail art you want - you just need to choose if it will be done on your own natural nails or on extensions.
-
